Fierce winds and white knuckles! I was holding on for dear life.

Cheers

Critical Out!!

Very rare do I get to head out on a weeknight due to family commitments, but when I do get the chance I don’t need asking twice. What started as a solo trip into the city just to get some night shots ( probably down in Media City……..AGAIN!! ) turned into an awesome few hours camped out on one of Manchester’s rooftops taking in the view.

I don’t do nowhere near enough rooftop exploration, but with them being mainly at night this will probably stay the case, well, until the kids can fend for themselves anyway :).

The weather was not the best but it was dry and that’s the main thing I suppose, however the murky clouds and orange/yellow glow from the light pollution gave the city a real Northern Wintery feel. I was more than happy with how they came out.

Wanted to try and cram as much into one of the shots as possible and with making a pano a little awkward dude to railings round some of the rooftop I decided to deploy the fish!

Really happy with the way this one came out. it was not intentional in my workflow but I get a real edgy apocalyptic feel from this shot.

Another with the fish and i think my fav of the night. Wanted to get a decent shot of the hotel coupled with Piccadilly Train Station.

The lack of a zoom lens didn’t stop me grabbing this shot. These were quite a way away but the 24-70mm did a fine job of reigning them in.

So that was my very rare but very enjoyable evening on the tiles, back down the guts busting flight of stairs to reality again!!
